In the Account window, you can view the Contacts, Interactions, Opportunities, and Hierarchy of the Account.

To View the Account Window

1.  From the Object Selector, select Account.

2.  Click the Account ID link.

- OR -

Double-click the Account to open it.

Components of the Account Window

The following table describes the components of the Account window:

Component

Description

Menu Bar

Contains commands to perform operations in the Account window.

Toolbar

Displays the most frequently performed tasks as buttons.

User Preferences Pane

Displays Properties and their values for this Account. To customize this pane, drag Properties from the Properties tab to this pane. These Properties are also displayed in the Preview pane of the Home Workspace, or any user-defined Workspace based on Accounts.

You can resize the column width of Properties, and their values. To do so, position your mouse pointer over the column you want to resize, and click when the mouse pointer changes to a two-headed arrow . Drag the mouse pointer horizontally to resize the column.

Tab Bar

Displays the different tabs in the Account window. Select a tab to view its details.

Tabs

Display details pertaining to the Account, when selected from the Tab Bar.

Properties Tab

Lists system Properties and user-defined Properties for the Account. For a description of system Properties, see Account Tabs and Properties.

Categories Tab

Lists the Categories created and selected for the Account.

Contacts Tab

Provides links to all Contacts associated with the Account.

Contacts Tab

Lists the Contacts related to the Account.

Interactions Tab

Lists the Interactions related to the Account.

Account Hierarchy Tab

Based on the Contacts associated with the selected Account, the Account Hierarchy tab lists the reporting order for all Contacts. The Contact names are displayed as hyperlinks. Clicking the hyperlink will open the selected Contact item.

History Tab

Displays a chronological list of events that are configured to be displayed in this tab. The events displayed in this tab are user-specific, and can be set in the Options dialog box.

Example

After an initial conversation with the Sales Manager at Klauss Sewing Machines Inc. about your Product, you feel that you have a valid prospect in the Product pipeline and want to create a new Account, and add an Opportunity to it. The events of creating the Account and adding the Opportunity are recorded in the History tab of the Account window as follows:

Opportunities Tab

Lists the Opportunities related to the Account.

Orders Tab

Lists the Orders related to the Account.

Personal Tab

Lists Properties created for the Personal tab in Talisma Business Administrator. The tab is visible in Talisma Client only for the User who created these Properties. Note that the Personal tab is visible for the User only if the User has created at least one Property for the tab.

Apart from these tabs, the Business Administrator User can create tabs for the Account Object, and define Properties in the tab. Custom Properties can also be created for the Properties tab. You can view or hide the display of these tabs in the Account window.
